LW Varsity Dominates Kankakee 5-1
Kankakee, IL - Last night, the LW Varsity hockey team traveled to Kankakee and secured a commanding 5-1 victory against the Irish. After a scoreless first period, the game took an unexpected turn when Kankakee struck first, scoring at 5:40 into the second period to take a 1-0 lead.
However, LW quickly rallied, responding with five unanswered goals to seize control of the match. Quinten Lange ignited the comeback by finding the back of the net late in the second period, assisted by Luke Riechers.
AJ Hull then took center stage, netting two goals in the third period with assists from Luke Riechers and Cameron Malecha. Lange added his second goal shortly after, with help from Mason Meskimen, who later scored his own goal, assisted by Chase Riechers.
In goal, Blake Lord was impressive, stopping 18 of the 19 shots he faced, solidifying LW’s defensive efforts throughout the game.
